What are the academic programs offered by the University Of Jordan, and what are their tuition fees?

​There are 287 academic programs at the University Of Jordan: 102 bachelor's programs, 120 master's programs, 39 PhD programs, and four higher diploma programs, 22 high specialization programs. How do I apply for the undergraduate level?

     1.      Check the entry requirements for the selected program if it is matched with the following link​

2.      Visit the Admissions and Registration Unit / International Admission department for acceptance, taking into account the limitation of seating.

3.      Bring the required documents duly certified and pursue procedures with admission and registration Unit for your username, password and e-payment number.

4.      Paying the required fees through the branches of Jordanian banks and their ATMs or points of sale and kiosks that provide e-pay service (eFAWATEERcom)

5.      Fill the student information through self-registration website

6.      Follow-up the advertisements on the University of Jordan website to find out the date of applying for proficiency exams (Arabic, English and computer)

7.      The course schedule is prepared within 24 hours of the examination based on the exams results by admission and registration Unit in the University of Jordan.

8.      Student university identity card is issued by the Deanship of Student Affairs.

What are the advantages of living in the city of Amman, in which University Of Jordan is located?

​Amman is the capital and the largest city of Jordan, and the country's economic, political, and cultural center. With a population of 4,061,150 as of 2021, Amman is Jordan's primate city and is the largest city in the Levant region, the fifth-largest city in the Arab world, and the tenth-largest metropolitan area in the Middle East.


What are the international accreditations obtained by the University Of Jordan?

​As the only University in Jordan to be ranked in the QS, times, and Shanghai rankings, UJ is proudly among the Top 100 in library and information science, Top 150 in Nursing and Pharmacy, Top 200 in computer science and information systems, Top 250 in linguistics and mathematics, Top 300 in the English language and literature, education, business and management, and accounting and finance. In addition, UJ is in the top 350 in electrical and electronic engineering, Top 400 in Medicine and Chemical engineering. In the top 500, UJ is also ranked in Chemistry and Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. In the top 650, UJ is also Ranked in Biological Sciences. How do I apply for the postgraduate degree?

​     1.      Submit the application to the School of Graduate Studies with the documents and pay $ 150 in the Admission and Registration unit/ Financial ​​                            ​Department

2.      the student gets approval, if the conditions are met.

3.      Bring proof of the regularity of study for bachelor's and master's and equivalent certificates from the country of the student or the cultural attaché in Jordan.

4.      Bring the required documents duly certified and pursue procedures with admission and registration Unit for your username, password and e-payment number.

5.      Paying the required fees through the branches of Jordanian banks and their ATMs or points of sale and kiosks that provide e-pay service (eFAWATEERcom).

6.      Fill the student information through self-registration website.

7.      Student university identity card is issued by the Deanship of Student Affairs.​

8.      Complete the visa process​.

What accomodations are located in and around the University Of Jordan?

​University housing:

The University of Jordan provides boarding housing for female foreign students: Jerash and Ammon, which are at an advanced level of furnishing, equipment and supervision at competitive prices. The student wishing to reside in the Jerash and Ammon residences can visit the two residence halls or call the housing exchange phone 5355590 ext 497, 318.

As for our students, there are many residential apartments available near the university campus, and the Office of International Student Affairs can provide them with services.
To help students obtain suitable housing as much as possible or help in obtaining a roommate.​



What activities can I do at the University Of Jordan?

1. Visiting the university library: library of Jordan University (ju.edu.jo), ​The University of Jordan Library has been serving students and researchers since the establishment of the University of Jordan in 1962. It has been operating from its 12,700 square meter main building, in addition to its 11 minor reading rooms, disseminated across the various schools of the University. The Library’s organizational structure comprises three departments and nine sections, which deliver services efficiently to students, academics and members of staff, along with users and researchers from the local community. In keeping with the latest innovations in the field of library science and technology, the University of Jordan Library implements a modern and user-friendly interface listing its content to users everywhere. The Library serves around 9,000 to 11,000 users every day and contains around 1,065,909 items.

2. Visitng the museum: 
The Archaeology Museum was established in 1962, the same year in which the University of Jordan was established. Since its founding, the museum has been continuously expanding its collection.  The objects in the museum are gathered from two main sources: The Department of Antiquities, and the excavations carried out by the Archaeology Department (Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism) in a number of sites, including: Tell Siran, Jerash, Petra, Tell al-Mazar, Tell Nimren, Yajuz, Rujum el-Kursi, Wadi al Yutum and Magass (Aqaba), Tell Abu es-Sawwan,Tell es-Sukhnah and Ein al-Beida (Amman).
The museum's collections are organized in chronological order, extending from pre-historic periods up to the late Islamic periods. They summarize the history of Jordan and reflect the experiences of its people.
The museum houses the necessary facilities and equipment to support its academic and educational goals. The museum works in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Resources Management and Conservation to, clean, restore and maintain artifacts​


3.AthleticFacilities:  Walking track,  Health and fitness center,  a private fitness hall with various equipment,  Multi-purpose outdoor sports games, ​Gymnastics hall, Swimming pool.



Is there health insurance for students?

Yes, the Insurance Department at the Student Services Department/Deanship of Student Affairs provides health insurance services. Subscription in health insurance is obligatory for all undergraduate students enrolled in the university.
Students covered by medical insurance are treated in the students clinic next to the Deanship of students affairs, and they can be treated at the university hospital after they obtain a referral from the specailist doctor in the students clinic. 
The student may visit the university hospital emergency room on official holidays and outside working hours without the need for a transfer From the doctor's office.



Do I need a visa to enter Jordan?

Yes, you are required to have a passport and a visa. Jordan issues visas to non-Jordanians upon their arrival at Queen Alia International Airport. The cost of the visa is 40 JDs (57 US Dollars) for a single entry with a validity of one month. International students are advised to take a visa in advance through the Jordanian consulates in their countries.

What are the visa Procedures?



Some nationalities require a student visa to enter Jordan, including citizens from countries that need prior approval, check here​.

To obtain th​e ​visa, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain acceptance into the desired program and register by paying the fees for the student identification document through the Admission and Registration Unit, either in person or via email at ipmd@ju.edu.jo.
  2. Send proof of student status and a copy of the passport electronically to the email address foreign.st@ju.edu.jo.
  3. Within 21 days, the International Student Office at the University of Jordan sends a letter of entry permission to the student via email.
  4. After entering Jordan and receiving the entry stamp on the passport, the student sends a copy of the passport, entry stamp, and student proof again to the email address foreign.st@ju.edu.jo​.
  5. Within 21 days, the International Student Office sends the approval letter for annual residency via email.
  6. Upon receiving the residency approval letter, the student visits the nearest security center to their residence to complete residency procedures.
For residency renewal (annually):
  • For bachelor's degree holders, visit the nearest security center a month before the residency expires and renew directly.
  • For graduate students, contact the International Student Office at the Deanship of Student Affairs.
  • Customs exemption:
  • A benefit for non-Jordanian students with non-Jordanian high school diplomas enables them to import their cars duty-free by sending proof of student status, a copy of the passport, and residency to the email address foreign.st@ju.edu.jo​, where the exemption is sent within two working days.


What are the certificate equivelancy procedures?


 The secondary education certificate held by the students should be qualify for admission to the college/specialization they are applying to, according to the admission criteria issued by the Jordanian Ministry of education. خدمة معادلة شهادة الثانوية العامة (moe.gov.jo)

What is the academic calendar?

​An acamedic calendar shows the dates of the academic activities in the university and the semester of study (the beginning and the end) and periods of draw and added and final exams dates. please check the academic calendar Registration Unit :: The University of Jordan (ju.edu.jo)

What is the academic year?

​Is a two semester: regular (first and second) and separate optional (summer), and the period of regular semester is (16) weeks, and the period of the summer semester is (8) weeks. 

What is the credit hour?

​It is the weight of subject, if the subject is (3) hours this means that student must attend a lecture 3 hours per week troughout the regular semester

What is the study plan?

​Is the subject that the student must studied to complete the requirements for obtaining a university degree and it consists of university requirements ​compulsory and optional, and collage requirements compulsory and optional and free subject. 

What are the required documents to register for the bachelor degree?

Original, authenticated copy of the General Secondary Education Certificate.

- Original equivalence certificate for students holding foreign or Arab certificates.

- Original comprehensive exam certificate and original diploma transcript, authenticated for students with diplomas from community colleges.

- Authenticated copy of the national ID and birth certificate for Jordanian students.

- Copy of the passport for non-Jordanian students.

- Three passport-sized photos.



What are the required documents to register for the postgraduate degree?

​The International Program Required Documents The following non-refundable documents should be attached to the student's application:

  1. A certified copy of the General Secondary Certificate (tawjihi or high school)
  2. A certified copy of the first university degree (bachelor's degree).
  3. A certified copy of the second university degree (master's degree) for doctoral students, with a rating not less than Good.
  4. Certified transcripts for all the academic years in bachelor's and Master's degrees.
  5.  The grading system of the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).
  6. The equivalence of a certificate accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This applies on certificates issued by official Arab universities (for students enrolled in universities after July 16th , 2001.

8. A copy of the passport.

 9. The application fees (150 $), which are non-refundable.

 10. A no-objection letter from the cultural attaché of the student's country.

 11. A document stating that the student has undergone the English language test.

 12. A letter from the applicant's embassy stating its acknowledgment of the university where the student studied.


What is the level exam (for students of bachelor)?

​On each new student to provide the level of three exams during the first semester of joining the university in the following subjects: (arabic, english, and computer skills) that to determine theirs level in these subjects. 

Can the international student work while studying in Jordan?

​Unfortunatly, international students are not allowed to work whilst studying in Jordan under a student visa. 

Can the international student transfer to the university Of Jordan from a university outside of Jordan?

​Yes, although he/she may lose some cerdits and requires extra time to complete his/her degree as it is a policy to only accredit up to a certain amount of hours.
