​Welcome to the University of Jordan Language Center (UJLC)​

Since 1979, the University of Jordan Language Center (UJLC) has been a leader in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. Over the years, thousands of students from around the world have benefited from the center's high-quality education and safe learning environment. Our professional staff, experts in their field, ensure that students receive the best learning experience. UJLC encourages student participation in extracurricular activities, making learning immersive and enjoyable. Teaching language in context is one of our center's best practices, ensuring effective language acquisition.

Programs Offered by UJLC & Fees:

1. The General Program: The General Program has nine levels. Upon entrance, enrolled students must take a placement test, the result of which determines the appropriate level. At each level, students attend classes five days a week, totalling 20 hours per week for 16 weeks in the spring and fall semesters, and for 8 weeks in the summer semester.

2. Custom-made Programs:

The center also offers special programs for students seeking to learn Arabic for particular purposes within a limited time frame or for those wishing to have extra hours to further their learning. These programs feature a specially developed syllabus tailored to the students' needs and interests. Students can learn standard or colloquial Arabic and Arabic jargon for media, politics, diplomacy, business, culture, or any other academic field. The best teaching staff from all UJ departments are nominated to deliver these tailored programs.

3. Fees:

• 1800 USD per semester (fall and spring)
• 1200 USD for the summer semester
• Custom-made programs: 60 USD per hour for a group (one to six students)

Note: If the number of students exceeds six, 7 USD is added per additional student. The maximum number of students per session is 16.
Registration fees: 50 USD per semester.

Dates, Required Documents& Enrollment:

International students can enroll in UJLC programs in any of the following semesters:

• Fall semester, usually starting at the beginning of October.
• Spring semester, usually starting in February.
• Summer semester, starting at the end of June.

Required Documents:

• Application form.
  
• Two passport-size photos.
• Photocopy of passport (photo and entry stamp pages only).

How to Apply

Once you have selected your program and organized your documents, Applying for the UJLC program can be done by following these steps:

1. Fill the application form or send the documents via email ujlc@ju.edu.jo
2. Receive an acceptance letter.
3. Upon arrival at UJLC, visit the International Students' Advisor's Office (ISO) located on the second floor of the Language Center.
4. At the ISO office, students will receive a payment form.
5. Proceed to Cairo-Amman Bank on UJ campus to make the fee payment in cash, in US dollars.
6. After paying the fees, return to the ISO office and submit the payment receipt.
7. Finally, take the placement test on the scheduled date.

After successfully registering in one of UJLC's programs, you will be issued a university ID card.
